WOW goes to Morocco

Two members of Women of Worth (WOW) group, Shirley Clough and Edith Reynolds, recently visited Morocco. At the November meeting they gave a talk and slide show of their trip.

JOHANNESBURG – “Serving tea to guests when they arrive at a home is a tradition which is still very popular today in Morocco. The home owner sits on the floor and makes the tea in front of their guests,” said Shirley. They had brought Moroccan tea back with them which all the members tasted.

“Morocco is one of the largest exporters of olives, and in the near future they’d like to begin exporting olive oil. A funny thing for us to see was how most people go to work on a donkey and just like we have car parks, in Morocco they have donkey parks,” they said.

After an interesting slide show of their holiday photos, members enjoyed refreshments with a Moroccan flavour.
