Hundreds flock to AMCARE night market

AMCARE's Annual Christmas Night Market held on Friday, November 28, was one of the best attended markets this organisation has ever held.

ALBERTON – The Night Market is one of the main fundraising events for AMCARE, a multi-purpose health and social development organisation, servicing poor and vulnerable persons in the greater Alberton area of Ekurhuleni.

“We want to thank each and every person who supported us. We had a record number of people attending and enjoying the many stalls and variety of gifts and goodies on display,” says Percy Howroyd, AMCARE general manager.

The weather was magnificent, and the highlight of the evening was the switching on of the Tree of Lights. Members of the public could purchase a light bulb in remembrance of loved ones who passed away.

After a short ceremony by Deacon Dr Vernon van Wyk and the Alberton Dameskoor, the lights were switched on and will stay switched on for the remainder of this year.
