Set and ready: Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi declared Gauteng’s state of readiness for the 2015 academic year

“The department has been working tirelessly over the past months to ensure that teaching and learning begins in earnest on the first day of the academic calendar.”

GAUTENG – The Gauteng MEC for Education Mr Panyaza Lesufi announced on Wednesday December 3 the province’s state of readiness for the 2015 academic year.

“The department has been working tirelessly over the past months to ensure that teaching and learning begins in earnest on the first day of the academic calendar,” he said in a statement by the Gauteng Department of Education.

Preparations for the state of readiness campaign included, ensuring that schools had adequate educators, Learner Teacher Support Material (LTSM) and the placement of all learners seeking admission in public schools within the Province.

MEC Lesufi also announced the implementation of an ICT pilot project that will see classrooms in seven schools across Gauteng being turned into paperless classrooms or “Classrooms of the Future” from January 2015.
