When nature brings havoc
It looked like the falling tree changed direction and fell on the car port and the front veranda.
EDEN PARK – Evidence of nature’s wrath – residents of 70 Abraham Street almost had a fatal accident on November 29 when a big tree on the property fell on a part of their home.
The owner, a widow, said the big tree had her worried for some time due to the fact that it was leaning more and more towards the house.
After the strong winds of Thursday and Friday her fear was at its highest point. “On Saturday morning, while standing next to the tree, I suddenly noticed that the tree was being uprooted by an invisible force with all the roots coming out of the ground.
“Perplexed and amazed, I saw the tree going for my house but by God’s grace, the tree changed direction and fell on the car port and the front veranda. it is a good thing it did not fall at night, while we were asleep, and maybe landed on the house,” she said.
