Early Christmas for vulnerable children

The City of Ekurhuleni and the Motsepe Foundation will today, Wednesday December 10, spread festive cheer at the third annual toy drive, which will see 10 000 children receive Christmas gifts.

ALBERTON – It’s still a couple of weeks to go before Christmas but the sound of jingle bells is spreading joy to the vulnerable children in Ekurhuleni.

The City of Ekurhuleni and the Motsepe Foundation will today, Wednesday December 10, spread festive cheer at the third annual toy drive, which will see 10 000 children receive Christmas gifts.

The children, who have been identified from early childhood development centres and after care centres for orphaned and vulnerable children, primary schools and churches, are set to experience an epic early Christmas as truckloads of goodies are delivered for them.

“As the City we feel honoured to have partnered with the Motsepe Foundation to do good for those who are less fortunate. This Godly gesture is heartwarming, and we hope it leaves an eternal smile on the hearts of the children,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

Children can look forward to receiving toys such as soccer balls, cosmetic sets, police play cars as well as Barbie dolls and more.
