5-year-old hit by car
The boy sustained injuries to his arms, legs and spine, but he is expected to be released from hospital soon.
EDEN PARK – A five-year-old toddler is still in hospital after he was run over by a speeding car in Honda Street, notorious for speedsters, on December 7.
The lack of speed humps in Eden Park is one of the main causes of fatal accidents in the area, and unfortunately Honda Street is one of the busiest streets in Eden Park, where taxis and school transportation vehicles drive through from morning till late afternoon.
The grandfather, Willie Jarvis, said that the little boy sustained injuries to his arms, legs and spine, but that he is expected to be released from hospital during the course of the week.
“I hope and pray that the EMM will do something about erecting the much needed speed humps to curb the speeding problem, which I fought for when I was a DA councillor in the area,” said Jarvis.
Most residents are requesting speed humps in almost every street for safety.
