Piglets run wild at Alberton Dam
A drove of piglets have been spotted outside their enclosure at Alberton Dam.

The dam is a popular picnic spot with a petting zoo but the zoo’s fence is too high to keep some of the animals inside. Piglets and other small animals have been creeping underneath the palisades to roam around the greater dam area.
Rabbits and piglets have been seen frolicking close to Bloutulp road. To prevent potential traffic accidents the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality plans to erect a fence that will foil the piglets’ escape plans. While the fence is being constructed the animals will be housed in cages to protect them from running into the street. The City has pledged to complete the protective fencing by July 2015.
