Alternative routes to avoid Michelle Avenue

A section of Michelle Avenue between the R59 and Johan van der Merwe will be closed for about three to four weeks.

Traffic is congested as a result of a traffic light that is not working and a part of the road that has been closed off for repairs of the sinkhole. For commuters looking to avoid that section of road there are a few alternative routes.

For travellers coming from Brackenhurst, Mayberry Park, Alrode, Arton, General Alberts Park or Brackendowns an alternative to get to Meyersdal is to take Swartkoppies road; turn onto Hart Avenue, then turn right into Hennie Alberts Road until Michelle Avenue.

For those coming from Alberton CBD, New Redruth, Florentia and South Crest an alternative route is to take Jacqueline Street and turn right into Hart Avenue; right into Hennie Alberts and continue until Michelle Avenue.
