Bracken bowlers say thank you
During December Brackenhurst Bowling Club hosted a very successful Christmas tree for the children/grandchildren of club members and for 70 under-privileged children invited from the local community.
An excited crowd of children were treated to piles of eats and goodies, with a popcorn machine and slush-puppy machine being firm favourites. There were jumping castles, face painting, soccer skills, a clown and a magician show to keep the kids entertained. Father Christmas ensured that his status as the star of the show was reinforced when he gave each child a lovely present.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank all our sponsors: the Spar Group, Albany Bakery and Dave Jacobsen of Imperial Retail Solutions, Tracey Weitz, Angelique and Grant Ryder, the Knights of da Gama and our club members for their generous contributions, which resulted in this wonderful event. A big thanks to those individuals who served on the Christmas tree committee and all the members who assisted on the day.
