N12 Accident: Minibus rolls over just after Comaro Street onramp
A minibus overturned on the N12 this morning and 16 people were injured. The accident took place just after the Comaro Street on-ramp on the N12 eastbound.
ALBERTON – The details of the accident are still unclear. Police will investigate the rollover accident.
“Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found the minibus came to a standstill on its roof in the fast lane,” a spokesperson of Netcare said in a press release.
After paramedics assessed the scene, they found that 16 people sustained injuries, ranging from moderate to serious. Injured parties were treated and transported to various hospitals nearby for further medical care and observation.
“Traffic is severely affected on the eastbound and will remain affected until the vehicle has been recovered,” the release continued.
Metro services closed off one lane of the highway to allow paramedics to work safely.
The cause of the collision is not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
