Scrap yards investigated

On Mondays the SAPS Germiston cluster checks up on second hand goods operations.

ALBERTON – The past week they visited scrap yards in Alberton. Fines were issued to scrap yards that did not comply with rules and regulations.

Alberton SAPS has also stated that where it is needed, arrests have also been made. Arrests were made on serious contraventions relating to the scrap yards inspected.

SAPS would also like to take this opportunity to inform the public that all second-hand shop owners need to apply for a certificate that allows them to operate.

For those who need to apply for a certificate, contact Sgt Mukosi at the Alberton SAPS, he will be able to assist them.
