Rotating roadblocks planned for Alberton

The SAPS Germiston cluster recently had a roadblock on the N3, close to Roodekop extension 31.

ALBERTON – Cars were stopped and searched for illegal items. No arrests were made as no illegal items were found in the cars that were stopped.

More than 200 cars were stopped, searched and drivers received pamphlets with safety tips.

According to police the operation was a success. The cluster commander Brigadier Mdlankomo and the Alberton Station Commander Colonel Kubone thanked everyone who participated in the roadblock. They also would like to take this opportunity to thank the drivers for being patient and working with the police.

They also added that rotating roadblocks will take place in the Alberton area on a regular basis.
