Brigadier Gibson will always be remembered
Brigadier Stanfrod Gibson (52) passed away on Sunday, May 10, and was laid to rest on Saturday, May 16.
ALBERTON – His smile and good sense of humor will be remembered for a long time. Gibson was born in Thaba’Nchu in the Free State. He was the fourth child of six brothers and attended school at Sandersville Primary School in Heilbron, Dr Blok High School in Bloemfontein, Noordgesig High School in Johannesburg and Alrpark High School in Nigel.
Gibson joined what was formerly known as the South African Police Force in Nigel, on March 29, 1982, and started his police duties in Alberton. He then went on to Eden Park, Katlehong and also served in Alexandra Public Order Policing, Gauteng Provincial, Operational and Response Unit and National Head Office.
The funeral, attended by many high ranking SAPS officers from around Gauteng, was conducted at the Uniting Reformed Church (URC-VGK) in Eden Park and presided by chaplain reverend Chomane.
Rest in peace Gibson. Your kindness, smile and soft laughter will always be remembered.
