Successful launch of another ProBono office

Lawyers who donate their time get new ProBono offices to call home.

Probono.org and the Law Society for the Northern Provinces (LSNP) have opened a joint ProBono office in Pretoria, with the aim of aiding the community and providing local lawyers with access to pro bono work.

The Constitutional Court and Palmridge Magistrates Court are home to the ProBono head office where Advocate Elsabe Steenhuisen and other lawyers who donate their time consult.

The offices provide a dedicated space where ProBono attorneys can consult with clients in a confidential and secure location. As a result, the office has enabled lawyers to attend to more clients and its ability to refer matters to law firms will be increased. The aim of these offices is to be far more accessible to people in need, and drastically increase the numbers of cases handled.

Lawyers who want to donate their time at any of the offices can contact Carien at carien@theprincipality.co.za
