Early morning collision injures one

Paramedics found that a motor vehicle had collided with a heavy goods vehicle in Albertsdal.

ALBERTSDAL — A person was injured during an early morning accident on the R59, near the R556, in Albertsdal on Saturday morning, 15 August.

Santi Steinmann, a spokesperson for Netcare 911 private ambulance service, said paramedics arrived on the scene just before 04:00 and found that a motor vehicle had been rear-ended by a heavy goods vehicle.

“Paramedics found that the driver of the motor vehicle had sustained serious injuries during the crash,” she said.

The injured patient was treated on the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the collision and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
