ALBERTON SAPS have issued a warning to motorists to not stop on the N12 next to the Voortrekker Road off and on ramps even if they are experiencing car trouble. It is believed that a group of two or more armed males are robbing motorists who pull over when they experience mechanical problems with their vehicle.

Members of the public are urged to contact the police or patrol unit when they require assistance.

The suspects seem to wait in the mountain area for drivers who experience mechanical problems. Once the vehicle stops the robbers descend, rob the victim and escape back up the mountain. The suspects reportedly threaten victims with a firearm.
