Learnership program students excel
All of them are expected to be able to provide risk based primary emergency care as an advance first responders in the workplace
FIRE and Emergency Services Learnership students appointed in January 2016 have made great strides in their studies so far.
They have completed most of the modules and are left with only three before they can be taken for the experiential learning in different fire stations around Ekurhuleni.
All of them are expected to be able to provide risk-based primary emergency care as advance first responders in the workplace. They can also engage in fire safety and public education activities, perform support operations at fire incidents and even perform fire ground operations necessary to ensure life safety, fire control and property conservation under supervision.
The modules are as per different unit standards and NQF levels respectively. The expected duration for the cognitive part is till the end of June 2016. Then they will be deployed to fire stations before their final graduations.
