Little ones go on a safari

SPRING was celebrated the safari way at Junior Colleges Castillian on Wednesday, August 31.
All the little ones dressed up in safari outfits and went on a safari expedition. They planned, decorated and followed a map that they had made with their teacher. This map led them to various wildlife that they spotted using their very own handcrafted binoculars.
A variety of fun and stimulating activities were put out for the children to explore during the expedition. After being in the sun and planting their seedlings, they all enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream.
Many valuable lessons were learned, wildlife conservation being the main topic of discussion among the little nature lovers.
“The goal of the day was not only to have fun, but also to help our little ones understand the practice of protecting plant and animal species and their habitats. By engaging our children in this very important initiative we will ensure that nature and animals will be around for future generations,” said principal of Junior Colleges Castillian, Elizabeth Steenkamp.
