Firearm training certificates issued by a firearm training provider not accredited with the SAPFTC will not be accepted by the SAPS with the effect from September 1.

The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) has announced the relinquishment made by the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training (SASSETA) in regard to its quality assurance function of quality ID.50480.

The QCTO has delegated the South African Professional Firearm Trainers Council (SAPFTC) to undertake the functions of quality assurance which commenced on the April 1.

The SAPS has implemented this delegation with the effect from the September 1 which means that the Firearm training certificates issued by the firearm training provider not accredited with the SAPFTC will not be accepted by the SAPS with the effect from September 1.
