Stand up against women and child abuse

The campaign aims to raise awareness and create a society that's free of all forms of abuse of women and children.

THE 16 days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children is an international awareness campaign that takes place annually, from November 25 to December 10.

The campaign aims to raise awareness and create a society that’s free of all forms of abuse of women and children.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) urges all community members to become part of the campaign and to raise their voices with those of the vulnerable, uniting to say enough is enough.

Community members are asked to wear white ribbons, which not only symbolise peace, but say the individual wearing this is against such actions.

“The SAPS repeats that all South Africans must feel free to go to any police station and report crimes or seek help following traumatic experiences. Alberton SAPS can be contacted on 011 861 6800,” said Capt Manare Ramotshela, spokesperson for the Alberton SAPS.
