Drains need to do their job

The blocked drains could do with an urgent and thorough clean up.

THE RECORD has contacted the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) for comment on a blocked storm water drain in Petersen Street, Eden Park, which is completely covered with grass and weeds. With the recent regular and heavy rainfall and with most of the drains blocked in this busy street, traffic is slowed to a snail’s pace due to the river-like conditions.

It is clear that the blocked drains are in need of maintenance.

The response from the EMM was that they need a reference number in relation to our query.

We will endeavour to get a response from the EMM and will update our readers.
