Helping mothers in need

We are in desperate need of clothing, blankets, baby products, sanitary towels, nappies, teddies and bags.

HANDS to Hearts, an organisation aimed at helping mothers in need, visited the South Rand Hospital on Saturday, February 25, to hand out 23 packs filled with essentials for new mothers.

Founder Cleo Slabbert explains that Hands to Hearts was founded in October 2016.

“I have a team of 16 ladies that I work very closely with, doing collections and handouts around Gauteng, with a focus on government hospitals.

“We currently advertise on social media and approach companies for donations and other kinds of sponsorships and I am hoping to expand to KwaZulu-Natal and the Cape,” adds Slabbert.

A total of 92 packs have been given out to date by Hands to Heart.

“We have been very fortunate to receive assistance from companies, namely Candy Bags, Bennetts, Dr Browns, 24hr Printing and Krayons, and we even received 500 bottles of shampoo from an individual sponsor, but we are in desperate need of clothing, blankets, baby products, sanitary towels, nappies, teddies and bags,” says Slabbert.
