Garden club finds new premises
“The hall is just what we are looking for, large enough to accommodate our present membership as well as any growth which is likely to be experienced, a kitchen area from where we can serve refreshments, space to store our cupboards and there is secure parking available inside the village."
AFTER a great deal of searching for a new club base, Johannesburg South Garden Club has secured a new ‘home’.
The club will be using the Winning Hall at the Queenshaven Retirement Village, 64 Outspan Road, South Hills, for future meetings.
“The hall is just what we are looking for, large enough to accommodate our present membership as well as any growth which is likely to be experienced, a kitchen area from where we can serve refreshments, space to store our cupboards and there is secure parking available inside the village. However, please adhere to the parking regulations and do not park on the yellow lines or in areas which restrict access to other areas eg, delivery areas etc,” said Mike Richardson, secretary of the club.
“If you need to be dropped off outside the hall or need to offload anything for the meeting, this will be accommodated but then the vehicle will need to be moved and parked in a normal parking area. You will also be required to sign into the village upon your arrival. This is a standard requirement of the village and is applied to all visitors in the interest of the safety and security of Queenshaven and its residents, staff and visitors. Your cooperation in this regard is anticipated,” he added.
The first meeting at the club’s new ‘home’ will be on Tuesday, April 25, starting at 10:00, with guest speaker, Ray Topp, who will present a talk on Clivias.
