Ward committee holds bi-elections

Nomination forms are available at the Alberton Customer Care Centre, Public Participation office, third floor, Alwyn Taljaard Street, Alberton.

INVITATIONS are extended to all organised formations, interested groups and sectors to register and nominate a candidate to fill various sectors in ward 37 and 38 committees.

The nomination will open from April 26 and close on May 11.

Sectors to be filled are as follows:

Ward 37: Environmental development and Faith-Based Organisation (FBO)

Ward 38: Faith-Based Organisation (FBO).

Requirements to be nominated as a ward committee member and become a sector representative in a duly elected ward committee are as follows: The person must be a South African citizen and a registered voter of that particular ward. The person must also be at least 18 years of age and have no criminal conviction. The person must also not owe council money for services, or be in arrears but is willing to make the necessary arrangements to settle the account according to set council policy.
