FOX Paramedics recently visited Junior Colleges Castillian, where they demonstrated first aid and CPR to all the Grade R learners.
Demonstrations were given on how to treat cuts, breaks and bleeding as well as CPR.
The learners then had a turn to show what they could do.
The principal of Junior Colleges Castillian, Elizabeth Steenkamp said: “When children are taught about CPR, you get to strengthen safety in the community and provide our children with skills that will help them in their future.
“We are so thankful to the paramedics from Fox Security who spent an informative morning with our Grade R class, training them on what to do in the case of an emergency.
“This workshop was very child-friendly and I know that our Grade R learners walked away with newfound knowledge.
“It was an awesome experience having a look inside the ambulance and familiarising ourselves with all the very special equipment needed in order to save a life.
“Each child received a certificate of participation. Well done, Grade Rs.”
