A warm surprise for hospice patients
They put their knitting, crocheting and sewing skills to work, to make blankets, scarves, beanies and the like for the patients of Stepping Stone Hospice.
A GROUP of kind and generous women presented their beautiful creations to Stepping Stone CEO, Tersia Burger, over tea and scones at The Steaming Mug coffee shop at Alberton Crossing on Tuesday, 9 May.
Just in time for the chilly weather, these lovely ladies from the community put their knitting, crocheting and sewing skills to work, to make blankets, scarves, beanies and the like for the patients of Stepping Stone Hospice.
“We have all walked a path with cancer at some time or another and would like to walk a path with hospice now, too – to use our skills and talents to help hospice with whatever they may need for their patients. We’re passionate about helping people and giving back,” said Lynette Lourens on behalf of the warm-hearted group.
“Lynette is no stranger to the hospice and has supported our organisation for some time,” said Tersia Burger. “We are grateful for the contribution that these ladies have made, from the heart, to help keep our patients warm and comfortable.”
