Palmridge takes part in the Walk for Values

THE Gauteng Chapter of the Sathya Sai International Organisation of South Africa (SSIOSA) participated in its annual Walk for Values on May 6.
The walk took place in the Palmridge community to raise public awareness about practising human values in daily life and promoting individual and collective responsibility.
The parade commenced from the Palmridge Secondary School with a large contingent of students from the Sathya Sai School in Gauteng, as well as Education in Human Values students and volunteers, who proceeded through the community for approximately five kilometres, holding banners and signs depicting the five human values of peace, right conduct, love, non-violence, and truth.
According to Sathya Sai Baba, peace in society can only be attained by each of us embracing these eternal and universal human values. “Therefore, for sustainable global peace and happiness, the practice of human values in our daily lives is most important,” says Baba.

Members of the community readily joined in the walk, in a spirit of cooperation and camaraderie. During the parade, the Walk for Values contingent received much applause and encouragement from the public along the route.
Palmridge is a community of diverse backgrounds. The promotion of intensifying the practice of the universal human values, as expounded by Sathya Sai Baba, for the transformation of the human heart in such communities ensures a bright and sustainable future for all South Africans, according to Baba’s devotees.
The Sathya Sai International Organisation (SSIOSA) is a free, non-denominational voluntary organisation based in 126 countries. Its members come from all faiths and share a common goal: to reach the ultimate goal of realisation of their innate divinity by practising the teachings of love and service taught by their spiritual teacher, Sathya Sai Baba. At the core of the organisation is the individual who believes in the assumption of personal responsibility for ethical transformation through selfless love and service.
