Biker Girl and her club offload much-needed items to Amcare

"As long as I am able, I will help others"

BIKER Girl, or Melody Ford, along with her motorcycle club gifted AMCARE some much-needed donations.

On Sunday morning, July 2, bikers made a roaring entrance with their motorcycles and an impressive custom trike pulling a trailer full of donations for the non-profit organisation.

BIKERS WITH BIG HEARTS: The Skully’s Motorcycle Club at Amcare.

Melody has been involved in charity work for many years, getting involved with the church that helped drug addicts and alcoholics with their affliction, later starting a daycare for less fortunate parents, putting together food parcels and more.

“I remember one day someone put a baby on my doorstep along with a note that said ‘You are a good person, please look after my baby as I cannot,'” recalls Melody.

OFFLOADING: The bikers load their donations into Amcare’s store room.

“I went through all the channels to find him a good home and looked after him until they found him one. The former CMR (Christelike Maatskaplike Raad now known as Tutela) was really helpful and gave me assistance. Sadly the state was not interested,” she added.

When Melody met “Skully” (Derek Steele) from Skully’s Motorcycle Club she says she found someone who understands and supports her endeavours to help others whole-heartedly.

WHAT AN ENTRANCE: Bikers arrive in style, with the trailer in tow.

“As long as I am able, I will help others. Without the Skully’s, friends and family, this donation to AMCARE would not be possible, so thank you to these good-hearted bikers,” says Biker Girl, as everyone fondly refers to her.

“I believe that to help others keeps the prisons empty and the body, heart and soul warm and you give hope to those who receive this help,” she concludes.
