Senior citizens receive food parcels
We supply our old folk with blankets and food parcels and they are thankful for what we do for them.
JULY 29 was a special day for the senior citizens of the Methodist Church in Eden Park when they were supplied with food parcels to lighten their burden.
The Men’s League, under the leadership of chairperson Richard Carelse, consists of 13 bold, consistent and hardworking gentlemen who are always ready to do anything for the church.
The secretary, Gilbert Aronje said: “This is the third year of our venture of giving to our senior citizens. We supply our old folk with blankets and food parcels and they are thankful for what we do for them.
“July is our men’s Month and every member knows that we have to contribute towards our venture. Our motto is ‘Winning men for Christ’. But in July we follow and work on a theme ‘Feeding my lambs’ and thus our task is to do something for our senior citizens,” he said.
The league had their mission month in July where they had to do house visits, prayer service, run soup kitchens and guiding and motivating the youth of the church.
