Creative Academy keeping it green

Creative Academy has collected 50.186 tonnes of paper since joining Mpact's Ronnie Recycler programme in 2014

ALBERTON’S Creative Academy preschool lead the way again for the environment.

For Recycling Day on September 16 and Clean-up and Recycling Week (September 11 to 17), Creative Academy took part in Mpact’s yearly national competition to see who can collect the most paper for recycling.

The school collected 50.186 tonnes of paper since joining Mpact’s Ronnie Recycler programme in 2014 which is aimed at teaching children to collect paper and other materials for recycling.

“Separating waste is a wonderfully tangible way to teach learners about the environment and how important it is to preserve it,” said Jenna Axsel, the school’s owner and principal.

Yasmeen Adam, procurement specialist for Mpact Recycling urges everyone to get involved and calls on all schools that are not yet part of the programme to contact them to get started in the process.
