WATCH: Chantal shares her dancing passion
What makes their studio unique is that everyone there from young to old are like a family and they always help each other.
CHANTAL Watson’s (34) passion for dancing started at the age of three and today she has her very own dance studio, Wat’s On Dance Studio in Brackendowns.

It is all about dancing:
“The whole dance studio idea began when my niece wanted me to teach her and since then my mother just invited more and more people. The studio has 150 dancers today. All came by word of mouth, because I have not done any advertising,” Chantal said.
The name of the studio actually came from her surname ‘Watson’.
WATCH:
The studio recently turned 15 and dancers staged a huge performance at Hoërskool Dinamika for parents and family members.
Dancers performed very well. Chantal said she has four dancers who have been with her since the beginning and who are now leaving because they are 18 years old.

Brilliant dancers
“The most satisfying thing about dancing is to express your feelings and being able to escape from the world for just a little while,” Chantal said.
According to her, the studio faces the challenges of finding a sponsor so dancers can go overseas. “We have brilliant dancers who were given the chance to go overseas but they couldn’t go because there was no sponsor,” she said.
What makes their studio unique is that everyone there from young to old are like a family and they always help each other.

Chantal wants her dancers to view the studio as their second home. “The one thing which is very important to me is that all of my dancers get to perform on stage. That is one thing I make sure of,” Chantal added.
WATCH:
The studio had a very busy year and a lot was accomplished. They excelled during the dance exams and received performance awards at the Eisteddfod and Dance Masters. During the Dance Masters 28 dancers qualified for regional colours and 21 achieved South African colours.
Her message to her dancers is to always enjoy themselves, to have fun and to express themselves.
