Companies donate for cancer

Five companies raised funds and awareness for CANSA on October 26 at Promise Grill Meyersdal.

MEYERSDAL – Promise Grill (Meyersdal), Remax Superior (Oakdene), Insurance Zone (Bedfordview), Hair (Mulbarton) and Better Bonds (Oakdene) all raised funds for CANSA on October 26.

These companies held an afternoon/evening of food and drink at Promise Grill, Meyersdal. All the proceeds which were raised from food which was sold, bar snacks, ribbons, stickers, penalties and donations went to CANSA in Bedfordview.

Corporations decided to do something for the community instead of focusing on themselves and therefore the evening was held around Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

They also received a cheque for R700 from Videx Mining Products.

Everybody who joined in on the night knew each other well and all came for one purpose… to raise awareness and funds for people with cancer. People also had the opportunity to network, chat and have fun while doing it.

Everybody who attended was asked to wear pink and those who failed to do so, were penalised and had to pay donations… all in the spirit of charity.

In two hours the companies managed to raise R2 147 from stickers and ribbons alone.
