Help identify this plant

Resident needs someone with botanical background to give her more information

EVON Scholtz and her family in Petersen Street, Eden Park are astonished by a plant they have had for yours in the front of their property which has suddenly started growing a tall piece from the centre after many years.

“I need somebody to explain the character of the plant and would love to know the botanical name and details about the plant. For years there was nothing – not even a flower, but now this tall stem seems to be growing daily,” Evon said.

The top of the growth is now as high as the electric wires running between lamp poles. “I want to know if the plant will stop growing and whether it may flower or not,” Evon said.

Anyone with a botanical background can contact Evon 073 053 4984 or drop the RECORD an email at cvdwalt@caxton.co.za
