Operation stop and search

Numerous security companies along with Alberton SAPS held a stop and search on October 31.

ALBERTON SAPS invited numerous security companies to assist in stopping vehicles and searching the cars on October 31 on Michelle Avenue, Meyersdal.

CPS Security was present on the day, along with CPF, JMPD, Metro Police and Alberton SAPS. Together these crime fighters were searching for any suspicious looking vehicles, drugs, illegal documentation, foreigners, illegal firearms, drunk and driving and overloaded taxis among other things.

On the day Captain Solly Matlou (Alberton SAPS) and his team had caught drivers violating the traffic acts and fined them accordingly.

CPS Security was also on the lookout for suspicious vehicles as silly season is fast approaching. “Housebreaking and robberies are increasing because of the time of the year,” said Tyron van der Merwe (CPS Security).

Motorists, business owners and residents are warned to be more observant and careful, keeping valuables locked away and out of sight, when it comes to crime.
