Lynette Meyers enjoys being the “mother”

Lyn wishes to be remembered as “the one who saw the need and met the need”.

TREASURER, co-founder and mother of Gavin Meyers, Lynette does not have direct involvement with the i4118 Foundation, but she is proud to be the mother-figure with whom everyone shares success stories and turns to for advice.

Lynette (72), or Lyn as she is often called, is a widow but has two children whom she loves dearly. She has a soft spot in her heart not only for children, but also for the elderly – she has compassion for those who must depend on others.

What makes this foundation special to Lynette is all the wonderful success stories that come from it. She said it’s nice to know that these once abused and neglected children are finally reaching their potential.

One day when she is no longer with us, Lyn wishes to be remembered as “the one who saw the need and met the need”.

If there is one thing Lyn has learned since the foundation started, is that it’s always more important “how” one says something instead of “what” one chooses to say. “Choose your words wisely, but choose your body language, tone of voice and attitude even more wisely,” she said with a wise smile.
