Introducing the Alberton Police Forum (CPF)
Alberton CPF would like to inform the community who they are and what their duties are.
ALBERTON Community Police Forum (CPF) would like to clarify the position they hold within the Alberton community.
Alberton CPF is not a security company but works in conjunction and co-operation with the Alberton SAPS and all the security companies in and around Alberton. According to the constitution of the CPF, all neighbourhood watches need to register and report to the CPF.
Members of the Alberton CPF are all concerned citizens living in and around Alberton. The members do patrols and report any criminal activity spotted while on patrol to the SAPS and security companies, either by reporting it on their CPF radios or at the Alberton Police Station.
The CPF passes on all information relating to criminal activity in their area in an attempt to curb crime and drug-related activities. Members of Alberton CPF do this voluntarily and without any compensation. They use their own resources to help keep the community safe.
The CPF makes use of a radio network and community WhatsApp groups to which the security companies are linked, to assist and co-operate with each other. There are monthly meetings in each sector, the dates and times of which are communicated over the radio network and WhatsApp groups.
