Vuyelwa will perform at final of Singing Stars competition later this year

Children got the oppurtunity to perform in front of a crowd at Spur on August 6.

THE first leg of the Singing Stars competition, to be held in the south, took place on August 6 at the South Dakota Spur.

The Singing Stars competition, which is held in partnership with Spur, gives young singers the opportunity to put their voices to the test, performing in front of a crowd of their friends, family and other patrons.

For many of the competitors this was their first time singing with a microphone. The winner on the night was Vuyelwa Mayeza who will get the opportunity to represent their area at a final competition to be held later the year. In Second place was Madison Pretorius and sharing third place was Ntando Xaba and Risana Mathebane.

The evening’s competition was filled with goodwill, with immense support for each and every singer. Both the other competitors and the spectators got into the swing of the young performers’ performances and they were supported with loud cheers and a chorus of voices joining them in the songs.
