Support Alberton SPCA project

As the warmer weather has arrived, why not take time to pack away your winter clothes and have a good clear out, a sort of summer spring clean.

AS the warmer weather has arrived, why not take time to pack away your winter clothes and have a good clear out, a sort of summer spring clean.

Alberton SPCA has a second-hand shop where they sell all sorts of goods. The shop is quite a treasure trove and it’s amazing the items they have for sale. “We are always in need of donations and can collect large amounts if necessary. In addition, we hold a weekly market selling good quality clothing at reasonable prices. Please have a good sort out and donate your unwanted items to us for re-sale,” said Vanja Ingold, admin manager. The proceeds from the shop helps the SPCA to provide for the animals in their care.

The SPCA receives no government funding, and is entirely reliant on the generosity of the local community. Without regular donations, the SPCA cannot continue the work to care for the animals under their protection. “The situation is worsening as more and more people surrender their animals to us. Remember to adopt, don’t shop.”

If you can donate in any way, please contact Alberton SPCA on 011 907 1568 or drop goods off at their offices in Lincoln Road, General Alberts Park.

Alternatively, make use of their SMS lines where you can easily donate – SMS ‘Puppy’ to 39969. SMS costs R15 or SMS ‘Kitten’ to 38844. SMS costs R10.
