Attention Verwoerdpark residents
Take notice of the proposed cell tower to be put up at 229 Second Avenue, Verwoerdpark, Alberton.
PLEASE take notice of the proposed cell tower to be put up at 229 Second Avenue, Verwoerdpark, Alberton. Residents only have until October 17 to lodge objections to this.
I reside in this area, as well as some of my family, and none of us received any notice from Ekurhuleni about this plan. I happened to find a small notice on a WhatsApp group, seeing the deadline is October 17.
There are no contact details for the building plan department, and it seems as if Ekurhuleni wants citizens to go in person to lodge their objections, which is unacceptable. The “department” page on the Ekurhuleni website is also not working.
Every Verwoerdpark resident should be aware of this proposed cell tower and the risks it poses, such as loss of property values in the area and the close proximity to businesses (such as the fuel station, pre-schools, 2nd Avenue Shopping Centre, and more).
