High Tea and High Heels at La B’elle Vita

Laurette Marais, Mrs Africa 2019 finalist hosted a high tea to collect donations for underprivileged girls.

IN her campaign as a Mrs Africa finalist, Laurette Marais hosted a High Tea and High Heels at La B’elle Vita on September 22.

The function was to raise funds as well as collect high heeled shoes for less-privileged matric girls.

Laurette, a Meyersdal resident, spoke at the event about why she decided to join the pageant. According to her, a man suggested that she takes part in the contest as it will provide her with a platform to reach more people and impact the lives of people more positively. Aside from her pageant ideals, Laurette is active in community work which includes three of her own initiatives and three that are part of the pageant.

Her personal initiatives she is very proud of is support given to underprivileged girls at Bryanston-based Hope School and Noordgesig School. It is at these schools she would donate the collected high heels.

MRS AFRICA 2018: Lucinda Pieterson shared her history with the ladies and how the Mrs Africa pageant changed her life.

Laurette is also an avid supporter of Amcare.

Lucinda Pietersen, Mrs Africa 2018, also spoke at the event about her history and the opportunity the Mrs Africa pageant gave her. She wished Laurette luck with her campaign as the potential second Mrs Africa from Alberton.
