Ready to start big school
This year the fourth group from Ligstad graduated to start Grade One in 2019.
ESTABLISHED in 2012, Ligstad’s aim has always been to be a beacon of light and hope to Alberton North and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
They realised that there were many hard-working parents who needed someone to fetch their children from school and keep them safe while they work to provide for the family.
Ligstad was created as an affordable alternative. A place where balanced meals and snacks would be provided. A place where children would be assisted with their homework in order to build a strong academic foundation. A place where children of all races could laugh and play knowing that they are part of a very special family, the Ligstad family.
Ligstad seized the opportunity to provide the same quality service to pre-schoolers and a playgroup was established in 2015. Parents now had access to a more affordable option when it came to the education and developmental well-being of their little ones.
“This year, the fourth group of youngsters will be graduating from Ligstad. It will be a bittersweet day when we see them walk off to start their new Grade One adventure,” said Alida Jooste, social worker at Ligstad.
Ligstad Playgroup and Aftercare registrations are now open to the public for 2019. Contact Daniel Viljoen at 082 221 3773 or 011 907 0518.
