EMPD appoints 14 officers into crucial superintendent posts

Vacant superintendent posts filled.

FOURTEEN EMPD officers were promoted into vacant superintendent posts at junior management level to give vital assistance to Precinct Commanders in the Operation Division.

“The new appointments will ensure effective management and good service delivery,” said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

The newly appointed six are females and they are from within the EMPD.

“They all have been taken through intensive and rigorous training to hone their managerial, technical and communication skills in preparation for their new responsibilities,” Kgasago said.

All the promoted superintendents will be occupying positions in the operations division. Eight will be assisting chief superintendents at precincts, one at land invasion and the rest within specialised services which include OR Tambo International, First Responder Unit (FRU), Public Order Policing (POPS) and K9 Units.
