Alberton – It is said that dog is a man’s best friend and on Thursday, December 5, Levi, a white Alsatian, proved this by taking steps to prevent a hijack in progress to go further.
During that morning around 11:00 in South Crest, Alberton, eight suspects in a white taxi were outside the premises by the driveway of the home and two of them managed to come out from the vehicle, enter into the premises by way of a gate closing slowly behind a vehicle and pointed a firearm/s at the victim’s head while he and his wife were still sitting in their car.
Levi, who was in the yard, went for the one suspect and was shot by the suspect on the side of her eye. The two suspects then jumped over the electric gate of the resident’s home to make an escape.
Levi was a heroine in protecting her owners and after having returned from the vet on the same day; she was still full of life and enjoyed playing with her friend Tiny, a toy pom.
A purse was taken from the victim with all her necessary information. The criminals are still on the loose – please report any suspicious crime or activity to your nearest SAPS or protection unit.
