WATCH: How to pamper your mom on Mother’s Day

Still haven’t decided what to get her for Mother’s Day? Here are some great gift ideas.

With Mother’s Day around the corner it’s time to start thinking of the perfect gift. Let’s face it, mothers are super women.

Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity to show how greatly we appreciate our moms and all they do for us. From a big gesture to a small spoil, mothers appreciate every gift of love bestowed on them on this special day, especially dedicated to them.

Whether you are looking for the perfect gift to buy, or even something homemade, we’ve come up with a list of great ideas:

Pampering

Any woman loves the feeling of being pampered with divine smelling body butter, a special body lotion, foam bath, hand soap or perfume. There are a many shops around selling these fragrant gifts. Add a scented candle for a relaxing bath with a glass of champagne.

Cosy on up

With winter on our doorstep, treat her to a pair of fluffy pjs, slippers or a cosy dressing gown. Buy her all three and put them together with tissue paper in a pretty gift bag. She’ll love you forever. Scarves and gloves are also good ideas. A woman can never have too many scarves.

For book lovers

There are plenty of great book shops around if you know if there’s a particular new book you know she’ll enjoy. Otherwise get her a book voucher and add a special bookmark for a personal touch.

Green fingers

A book on gardening is always nice, especially if you know her specific plant interests, such as herbs, succulents or small garden ideas. Otherwise pay a visit to a local nursery and buy her a plant, a shrub or tree.

Something for the taste buds

A box of her favourite chocolates or a fancy tin of biscuits are always a great idea. The choices are endless and you can always pair them with her favourite bottle of wine.

Small and inexpensive gifts

A fragrant soap: a special chocolate, pen and notebook, pair of woolly socks, pair of gloves, nail polish, hand cream, et cetera, are only a few of the many ideas if you are on a tight budget.

Homemade

50 reasons I love you: take a mason jar and fill it with lots of tiny notes with all the reasons you love her, and all the things she does for you for which you are grateful.

A Mommy Survival Kit: fill a mason jar with a few mini essentials such as a calming lotion, a hand sanitiser, mints, lipstick, lip balm, a nail file, plasters and some chocolates.

Dress up the jar with a pretty label and a beautiful bow on top, and even a small card.

Other homemade ideas include:

• A hand printed apron.

• A sweet Mother’s Day poem.

• Homemade cookies, cake, fudge or brownies.

• A special breakfast in bed might be right there at the top of her list. Just remember to leave the kitchen in a pristine state when you’re done.

• Can’t decide? You can always get her a gift voucher. Add a personal touch by adding a small gift, put it all in a pretty gift bag and finish it up with some tissue paper. Presentation goes a long way. And always remember, you can never go wrong with a bouquet of beautiful flowers.
