WATCH: Workout session held to commemorate Youth Month

Health fanatics came out in their numbers to participate in an aerobics session held at the Eden Park Taxi Rank on June 17.

TO COMMEMORATE Youth Month (June), health fanatics came together for a workout session held at the Eden Park Taxi Rank on June 17.

Luize Morais, fitness instructor, had both young and old sweating as she hosted an aerobics session which was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The aerobic fitness programme, which was hosted for the first time at the venue, featured movements which were inspired by various workouts such as spinning, tramp fit and step aerobics. The workout session focused on both cardio and physical exercises.

According to Morais, the session had a positive influence on those who attended and encouraged them to work out more often.

“We had a great number of people coming through to take part on the day. The main focus was to unite residents and get them to participate in a less strenuous exercise with intent to encourage healthy living,” she commented.

Christina Nhlapho, a participant on the day, commended the workout session.

Participants do step aerobics with their fitness instructor.

“I feel happy to participate in such a programme. It is always exciting to gather with other individuals who are passionate about living a healthy lifestyle. I found the workout session helpful and some of these exercises can be done in our homes,” she said.

Youngsters also came in their numbers to join other participants.

Those who are interested in a joining free aerobics class are welcome to attend every Monday and Wednesday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at JD Thomas Community Hall.
