Finally EMPD takes action against illegal right turns onto R59 Swartkoppies

As I drove off I thought to myself: 'Now they are finally getting what they deserve.'

Well what can I say? Maybe that I am ever the optimist and would want to thank EMPD, or maybe I should keep back on the optimism for a while?

This morning when I got onto the onramp to Swartkoppies Road from the R59 I was truly surprised and well, let’s just say it, grateful to see a number of EMPD officers writing out fines to the culprits with their illegal right turns onto Swartkoppies.

Maybe I was a bit more than grateful because I drove past with a feeling of victory and a fist pump saying ‘Yes!’ out loud to myself.

As I drove off I thought to myself: ‘Now they are finally getting what they deserve.’

It would seem that the wheelbarrow that squeaks the most will get the oil in the end.

After numerous letters in the RECORD I suppose the complaints finally fell on the correct ears and there we have it – the culprits getting what was coming their way.

I do hope some hefty fines were issued this morning.

To EMPD – thank you for listening to the residents of Alberton and the motorists using this onramp on a daily basis.

I hope to see this action more often than just today as a once-off.
