Southern Africa’s largest trade show offers global sourcing in a single venue
The trade shows will feature an extensive range of products from nine sectors.
THE fifth edition of Southern Africa’s largest trade show will take place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec, from September 23 to 25.
Small business owners, traders and buyers across Southern Africa will again have the opportunity to source the widest range of superior and verified Chinese goods in their own region when China Homelife and China Machinex hits South Africa’s shores.
The trade shows will feature an extensive range of products from nine sectors including agriculture and food, building materials, consumer electronics, furniture, home appliances, textiles and garments, home products, gifts, as well as lights and lamps.
Binu Pillai, the chief operating officer for the show’s organiser, Meorient International Exhibition Co. Ltd, said, “Buying directly from China is ideal for small businesses and traders because of the low prices and favourable importing costs. This means excellent margins for businesses.”
There are a number of options for businesses wanting to source from China.
These include sourcing purely online sites, buying through agents as well as travelling directly to China.
Pillai explained that buying through a trade show like China Homelife and China Machinex combines all the advantages of the above while eliminating the need to travel to the supplier.
It also offers the opportunity to meet exhibitors identified through the event’s website face-to-face; as well as support throughout the importing process.
“Because all the suppliers and manufacturers who take part in the show first have to undergo a stringent vetting process to make sure that their goods are up to standard, buyers can be assured of good quality. To make negotiations and discussions easier, we also have onsite translation services,” said Pillay.
He added that with so much available, finding the right supplier can be a daunting task.
“The online element is integral to the trade show; all goods are categorised and information on each supplier is readily available. It is impossible to list all the products that are available and we encourage visitors to pre-book their meetings with identified suppliers in order to better target the ones that will best meet their requirements.
“The variety of products you will find at China Homelife and China Machinex is far more extensive than you would typically find at similar events. With many of the suppliers, you could also have a level of customisation which means there is opportunity to develop your own brand,” he said.
Registration to attend the show is absolutely free and can be done via the China Homelife and China Machinex website: www.chinahomelife.co.za Doors open 10am daily.
