EMPD new members are prepared to fight crime
The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department’s (EMPD) Chief of Police unleashed 263 additional new members to three Ekurhuleni regions on September 30, in Kempton Park.
THE Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department’s (EMPD) Chief of Police welcomed 263 additional new members to three Ekurhuleni regions on September 30 in Kempton Park.
The recruits who recently completed their 18 months metro police course gathered and were acknowledged by the EMPD Chief of Police Jabulani Isaac Mapiyeye with his management team.
The thrilled group of 171 men and 92 women officers who seemed prepared to fight crime, enforce municipal by-laws and traffic law, listened attentively to speeches delivered by officials.
They were taken back on their journey as traffic wardens and given a chance to reflect back.
After the Chief of Police and management completed allocating members accordingly, he stated that they would not tolerate criminal elements.
“Lawlessness won’t be tolerated in the City of Ekurhuleni. On August 23 the executive mayor, councillor Mzwandile Masina, welcomed, congratulated and addressed all of you after a pass out parade.
“So, go out there and serve, protect and defend the communities of Ekurhuleni, beef up the police visibility and make us proud,” he said.
