Club 2000’s first winner announced

Club 2000 fund-raising programme is an initiative where you, in donating to hospice, now also stand a chance to win.

GREAT excitement prevailed on the Stepping Stone Hospice premises on October 10 when the first draw (September draw) of their Club 2000 took place.

There to keep a watchful eye were auditor André van Zyl and two representatives from the National Lotteries Commission.

The lucky winner of the first prize of a whopping R20 000 is Derus Berg from Alberton (ticket number 1068).

Stepping Stone Hospice and Care Services is the only non-profit, community-based organisation in greater Alberton, Bassonia, Glenvista, Kathehong, Thokoza and Vosloorus, where the sole mission is to offer comprehensive palliative care services, with an in-home programme as well as an in-patient facility.

“As a fund-raising team at Stepping Stone Hospice, we are on a continuous quest to raise funds to ensure our doors remain open so that our clinical team can continue providing much-needed care for those facing the devastating effects of a life-limiting illness,” said Marietjie Tame, marketing and fund-raising manager at the hospice.

“To that end, we are committed to thinking out of the box as we are mindful of the fact that even our most loyal and regular supporters are finding it difficult to make ends meet in a difficult economic climate.

Always a winner

“Our Club 2000 fund-raising programme is an initiative where you, in donating to hospice, now also stand a chance to get something back. In participating in the programme, you can win some wonderful cash prizes on a monthly basis, ranging from R20 000 as a first prize to R500 as a last prize.

“It’s actually a very simple, yet exciting programme. Any member of the public can purchase a R50 ticket per month for 12 months, which then gives him or her a lucky number into the monthly draws.

“There are seven cash prizes up for grabs monthly: a first prize of R20 000, second prize of R2 000, third prize of R1 000 and four prizes of R500 each,” explained Marietjie.

There are various ways of entering. One would be to visit their website (www.steppingstonehospice.co.za) and click on the link “Club 2000” under “You can help”.

Another option is to send an email to them (club2000@steppingstonehospice.co.za) containing your contact details, they will then forward you the necessary entry forms to be completed and returned to them.
