A Remembrance Globe in memory of a loved one
You can now add your remembrance globe in celebration of a loved one who has gone before us,
“For many of us the approaching year-end festivities and Christmas celebrations bring with it moments of sadness as we remember those who are no longer with us.
“At Stepping Stone Hospice we understand this possibly better than most, and have therefore decided to host a tree-lighting ceremony on Saturday, November 30 – a ceremony that can be seen as a beacon of hope, strength and a celebration of life.
“Not only is it a perfect opportunity to enjoy a picnic under starry skies with family and loved ones. You can now add your remembrance globe in celebration of a loved one who has gone before us, at only R100, and know that the funds will go towards a good cause,” said Marietjie Tame, hospice’s marketing and fundraising manager.
“Funds raised will ensure that hope, comfort and support continue to be provided for Stepping Stone Hospice patients and families on life-limiting illnesses.
In purchasing a remembrance globe, you will be offered the opportunity to write a dedicated message to your loved one which will be posted on a special Tree of Lights page on our website.
“You can then view and share your dedicated messages with friends, family and colleagues on your favourite social media platform.
“You are invited to join them for the tree-lighting ceremony on November 30 at Reading Country Club where a beautiful tree has been selected to carry messages of hope, and the celebration for the month of December,”said Marietjie.
The celebrations will start at 5.30pm with entertainment and traditional Carols by Candlelight.
Stepping Stone Hospice will sell pancakes, boerewors rolls, popcorn and drinks.
The actual lighting of the tree will take place at 7.45pm (weather permitting) when hundreds of globes light up with a soft radiance. The tree will shine throughout December.
The Tree of Light and Dedications page on hospice’s website will be live as from November 30 and will only be removed on January 10, 2020.
“We hope that you will participate in the remembering of your loved ones, and that you and your family and friends will join us on November 30 for the Tree Lighting Ceremony. There is no entrance fee,” said Marietjie.
